In the ever-evolving world of automotive innovation, Volkswagen has once again stepped up to the plate, revealing the first look of ‘The New Transporter’. The first images of the 2024 Volkswagen Transporter have been revealed ahead of the vehicle’s launch in 2024. It has already caused quite a stir within the commercial vehicle community.

A new partnership between Volkswagen and Ford has been setup, meaning that the VW T7 is twinned with the new Ford Transit Custom.

VW T7 - What we know so far

Volkswagen have already said that the Transporter will have a recognisable front and rear. The overall shape is going to be shared with Ford, but the front grille, headlights and other details will be VW.

The interior and infotainment system also seems like it will be tweaked for the Transporter to match the VW look.

This new Transporter will be available with diesel, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The famous TDI engine will be available in three different power options: 110hp, 150hp and 170hp. The plug-in hybrid option will blend electric and diesel power for greater efficiency bringing a total of 233hp. The new Volkswagen Transporter’s new zero-emissions electric powertrain will be available in 116hp, 136hp, 218hp and 286hp power options.

Different body variants

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will offer a good range of different variants for the new Transporter. There will be a basic panel van available in two different lengths and heights, a Kombi, a dropside vehicle and the famous Caravelle.
